Hi all - I found these forums because I was searching the interweb for a Tempest cocktail. I thought it would be easy to find, my roommate had one back in the early 90's and it was my favorite game, I always wanted to own one. Wel it turned out to be hard to find...but thanks to Jawhn in Phx I now own one! It was in very good shape so I'm really xcited. I don't have room for mult games (thankfully) but I look forward to learning more about this and other games, doing my own electrical repairs as necessary, and basically having fun keeping my machine working and looking good. So far I had the legs and glass brackets powder coated and wow it's lookin awesome. Ok I'll stop rambling :)

Welcome to the forum.

I glad you found your grail of a game. I found some of mine. I keep finding new grails laughs.

Since you only have one, you might want to consider looking for and hunting down spare parts for your machine. A spare board is good for a reference if you are repairing it on your own. It is also good to have if you need to send the board out to get repaired. This allows you to keep playing the machine while the original pcb is being repaired. Spare fuses. Rebuild kits for the monitor are things to look into.

There is a Tempest multi kit made by Clay Cowgill that is not being produced any more. You can still find them pop up for sale every so often. The kit that allows you to play several different versions of Tempest, Tempest Tubes, and Vector Break Out. I'm not sure if it works in a cocktail cabinet though. So check into that as well if you are interested in adding a bit of variety to your machine.

Thanks -- I've seen the Tempest Tubes kit, and I've heard about a couple of multi-game kits too. I'm definitely interested and will keep an eye out...
