Figured I'd join the crowd and post my "hello!"

In Lincoln City, OR.

I have 2 cabs.
One is currently a 60-n-1 vertical, although my monitor died a bit ago, so it's got a 17" VGA monitor in there now. Not as nice as the 19" arcade monitor it had, but it works for now.
(Well, I say nice. It was old and had serious screen burn, but I liked it better...)
Tempest cabinet (no, I didn't gut and convert a Tempest cab). It had Toki (JAMMA) in it when I got it and was pretty beat up. I put on some new (Tempest) repro sideart several years ago when I first converted it and at the time put in an old PC running Vantage.
Not sure if I'll go for another arcade monitor or not for that guy...

I'm here more for my other cab.
It's a (currently) non-working Pole Position II cab.
Some type of power problem. It's not the AR boards. (Although they had smoked a couple of resistors) I found a good deal on 2 replacement boards, so I did that. But nothing.
I replaced the resistors on the original board (and did the sense mod while I was at it) and nothing.
Then I realized that there was a bigger power problem.
No power getting to the ARs... ;-(

There some voltage coming off of the PSU (some 15V), but I think there should be 30v or so and I'm not seeing that...

I can replace some parts, but I'm not an electronics guy...

Then I saw a thread here about a possible replacement power supply (ATX), so I signed up and I'm watching that thread.

Hoping to get the PP II working again...

On a totally different track, I'm really psyched that there is an arcade opening up in my town!!! Called "Game Over."
Looks to have a classic feel from what I can tell...

Waiting and waiting for that to open!!!!!!

Looks to be a fun forum you have here...

Welcome! Bummer about the Tempest getting converted, but awesome that you put the correct side art on it.

Smoked R29 on your AR2 means that you need to repin your edge connector. Check the schematic to see what voltages you should be getting. Atari power supplies are really easy to fix, if you're so inclined.

Post some pics!

Yeah, when I realized it was a tempest cab (believe it or not, I didn't recognize it when I got it, but I knew it looked familiar; then I opened the back and it still had the Tempest paper attached to the inside of the back door) I considered "restoring" it, as Tempest is one of my favorites.
But then I looked at all the work involved in trying to restore a vector game... ;-(

I have to admit, repairing power supplies makes me a bit nervous.

I think I have the Pole Position II manual downstairs, so maybe I will give it a shot..

One thing...
Actually, instead I'll post a thread in the proper place asking more questions, rather than in the new user intro forum.
Now that you've got me considering that.. :)

I'll work on some pics too...

Thanx,

Hey!!

Also, the new Arcade in Lincoln City isn't open yet, but I've finally seen them moving cabs into it, so I'm hoping SOON!! ;-)
