Good afternoon,

I wanted to introduce myself, I'm Jay-Bird, and I hail from Las Cruces, NM. I'm 35, and last year I purchased a home. I have been playing video games since I was 4, so suffice to say, I have collected Enough stuff to make a good game room. About 20 years ago I read an EGM article about buying arcades, and its always been in the back of my mind to get one.

I've always wanted some arcade cabinets but never had the room till now. Last year I purchased a Sega STV Die Hard arcade. I also got a baseball game with it as well.

Just yesterday I picked up a Galaga upright yesterday.

I definitely caught the bug and want to get more! Problem is, I'm kind of out in the boonies so to speak, so arcades don't come up for sale a lot!

I will post up some pics here shortly! Can't wait to learn more and talk to you all!

I also welcome you
Now really I live in the boonies. Just to make small talk, I feel it is pretty hard to get games here is New Mex. It is tough.
I want to say about 2/3 of my games came from out of state.
Good luck with your collecting and feel free to reach out.

Welcome. I know Clovis is a ways from you but, I used to live heee briefly in 98-99. There was a video store there that had a back room of arcades...odd stuff that I never heard of as I recall. The two that stuck out to me was karate champ and track and field. Wonder if that place is still in business

Awesome, didn't think I would find any fellow New Mexicans!

Mylstar, there is plenty of land out here! And Santa Fe is none of the more pricey spots, for New Mexico anyway. Nothing compared to some parts of California though. Book marking your site!

Thank you all for the welcome!

Welcome JayBird! You may want to check out the multi-cart for the STV system by Darksoft. Best place to get info on that is here

Also, in your userCP>edit details....you will want to put your location there so it shows in the right hand side of your posts.

Thank you! Ive been looking at those , I wanted to get on her to see real world use.

Welcome.
I dont know a lot of the collectors in New Mexico, but the ones I've met have been supper cool people.

If you can make it, you might think about driving out here for ZapCon.

I'll post up some pics here pretty quick

Congrats!! GALAGA is a fantastic start to a collection. My best advice to you is that; it's easy to get carried away to pick a top 5, and work on that. Learning how to fix them is the most important part in order to preserve their integrity.
