Hello! My name is Rosie, and I'm new here to these forums. I've lurked a little bit the last few years to try and read up on arcade stuff - looking at restorations people have done, advice on boards, etc. I decided to finally make an account because I'm dipping my toes into working with PCBs.
I've been a video game player since I was very young, but had mostly played and collected console and PC games. However, I've liked arcade titles since I was young too. A lot of my initial experiences were Jakks Pacific Plug 'N Plays, and the Ms. Pac-Man cocktail cab at my laundromat. It gave me a love of early 80s Namco titles - Bosconian is still my favorite!
Right now, I own no arcade games, but am hoping to soon get my first (few, potentially) boards to play around with. I'm currently waiting on a Supergun to ship from Axumworks, and I've got parts on the way to assemble a little control panel for plugging in and playing on my CRT. I've had a little electronics experience, but I'm hoping to both beef up my soldering skills this year and hopefully learn a thing or two about PCBs as I go. I'm eyeing a working Pac-Man PCB to start out with and get working in my setup.
Thanks for having me, everyone!
