My name is Tony and I'm very new to the arcade owning scene. I would definitely consider myself as a casual arcade owner, however I've loved video games since I was 5 years old, when our family got an NES. Since then I've owned several console systems, handhelds, and even threw a MAME together using an old PC, an Apple Ipad display stand I acquired, and an X arcade tankstick. I definitely have little experience with the inner workings of proper arcade cabinets but I've taken apart several consoles and even managed to repair some. I'm passionate about video games in general and even got my bachelor's in game design. I don't really see myself becoming a hardcore arcade cabinet collector (although I heard once it gets its hooks in ya its hard to get away) but I definitely look forward to spending lots of time in these forums talking about, learning about, and even discovering arcade games and cabinets.
Cheers,
Tony
