Omega here,

I have just recently gotten into the hobby. It started out last Christmas with my bonus and since I thankfully didn't have a credit balance to pay off I thought I would splurge on myself. Originally I was going to buy the iPad BUT as I was searching on Craigslist I cam across a 2 slot NeoGeo cab in immaculate condition....so fast forward a year and I now have 3 cabs in my house!

1. 2 slot NeoGeo with 161-1
2. A Dynamo woody with Capcom 18-1
3. Astro City with Street Fighter 3rd Strike

As well as individual pcb's WWF Wrestlefest, Street fighter 2 The World Warrior, NeoGeo Samurai Showdown, Fatal Fury and Art of Fighting and a phoenixed cps-2 Marvel Superheroes vs. street fighter.

I hope you guys don't judge me too harshly for the multi boards as I didn't appreciate the idea of preserving these games until I was able to get my hands on the Street Fighter 2 as that's when I realized how special it was to own an original game. I remember quite vividly after school running to a nearby cornerstore for some one on one action against my buddies and strangers a like and it was so much fun, and now I had one...so yeah I guess I can say "Hi my name is Omega and I'm an alchohic!?!...uhm erm video game aholic I mean"

When I say "Welcome to the addiction", I speak for many here. :)

It is very addicting, welcome to the party. Don't worry too much about multiboards most people on here have one or two it seems. I think the only rule is don't kill a cab that's complete or rare. I started off with a mame cab myself and transitioned to programmable pcbs and xxxx in 1 boards. I pretty much hate xxxx in 1 boards now but space has become the issue. That's why I got a clone noir cab now so I can simply run Xbox arcade style games like sf4 and have lots of games without using up so much space. I also got a neogeo which is nice because there is a huge library of games that you can swap out as easy as plugging in a cartridge. One day if I finish out the garage I'll have enough space to get some golden era dedicated machines but until then these machines will have to tide me over. Let me know how long it takes before you wake up one morning and decide you want a pinball machine and skee ball as well. I fight that feeling every morning :-(

As others have said welcome Im really new to arcade collecting too and i thank my lucky stars i found this place!!! everyone is incredibly cool and even more helpful! I too am a fan of the street fighters and the marvel vs games. they just never get old when you have kids and friends to play against!!!!!

Thanks everyone for the warm reception,

AND yes I have being eyeballing a Gottleib Street Fighter 2 pinball machine as there is one locally that is currently in the middle of a restoration and man is it sweet looking. It's taking all my willpower not to pick it up....I know I'm in trouble;). So yeah Where I grew up all the games were in the neighborhood cornerstores, we are talking about classics such as Donkey Kong, Mario bros, Karate Champ, Donkey Kong 3.....some serious good times. Like I said in my original post I love my games though when the industry more or less died in the late 90's and the dance dance revolution style games showed up I moved over exclusively over to the consoles. Grew up with an Atari 2600 with the Donkey Kong JR and Sea Quest combo and of course the trusty old NES the deluxe edition with ROB the Robot and the zapper....yeah that's right I'm one of the "LUCKY KIDS" that got Gryomite and Duck Hunt...thats right NO Super Marios Brothers!
