im posting here as i just acquired a semi working space dual arcade game, this is the 2nd arcade game i have owned the first one which was ivan stewerts super offroad racing 2 player version which i sold a few years ago due to not having a job at the time and not being able to fix it,

i dont have any pictures of this space dual right now but will be getting some later today, so far i know the screen and maybe more parts that have to do with the screen need to be replaced as when it powers on there is a burning smell coming from the screen and there is a burn mark under the glass of the screen which i know is very bad.

so i hope i can restore this game and while im here learn something in the process, anyway take care and i welcome any replys about the game

im in Nashville Tennessee, the only thing i can see wrong with the electronics is the screen everything else seems fine i wont be able to find out til i have more space in the garage which should be soon also i should have some pictures sometime today

this is what is wrong with the screen that little dot seems to be melted glass or something

Dot

That game does not look too bad. The dot is a phosphor burn. The Phosphor coating on the inside of the tube is burnt off because the game was left on when there was a monitor problem causing the beam to concentrait in that area. The tube may still work but it will not display any part of the image in the burnt spot.

you are correct sir, the picture is all distorted from that point on the screen and there is also a burning smell from the screen when the screen is hooked up, also the coin mec sort of works but only one player works, there is a set of green wires in the back that have been cut but i have no idea what they were for

so for now its single player only

thanks alot! i just bought some tools that will help me to restore it, but one of the problems i have run into is how do i go about replacing the side art and the control art? i have searched the net and haven't found anything yet, also most of the labels on the electronics are almost gone so im going to try and recreate them in photoshop

Do you mean the writting on the control pannel, side art and coin door, or interior labels?
Because if its the outside stuff you can get replacment parts from some folks on here.

im talking about all of it, i took some of the labels inside of the can out and scanned them and am trying to make them vector so i can make new ones that look brand new

You see I saw that 2. But I own a black Widow and its the same side art as yours .checkout the third picture down of the KLOV description of the Black Widow.

hmm i see your point, the picture is blurry but the ships in that link are in different places then the space duel but they do kinda look alike

I just Picked up the Black Widow from DN DJS and its beautiful. I'll see about snapping a pic tomorrow. I thought it was all original except for a new CPO . When I looked on Klov description I saw the same artwork. So I don't know if Black Widow could have came with 2 different art work? Or weather I have a conversion, Or there were conversions ?

i looked up gravitar and i couldnt find a good pic of it but from what i saw it does look like gravitar
