Hello everyone im New here and looking for some Direction :)

Im not sure if this is the place to post, if not could a mod please move this to the approproate section.

I just wanted to say Hi and my name is Mark. I have a few arcade machines and am a member at arcadecontrols.com and was referred over here. Im also a member of many classic gaming sites because thats one of my other hobbies, now this is my new one lol.

Basically i want to work on, repair, and restore old arcade machines on the side and i hope i came to the right place. My main reason for doing this is because i live in a very rural area and there is no one around that works on them where i live, and im starting to get a few machines and when something goes wrong with them i want to have the knowledge to be able to fix them.

I currently own a dedicated 4 player x men, dedicated ms. pacman, dedicated area 51, and a dedicated Smash Tv that i just bought. I also own a broken dedicated TARG machine (monitor needs worked on) hope to fix maybe!

So anyways first off just wondered if anyone can recommend any great books/dvds/ for arcade knowledge/monitor knowledge. Im going to be doing some lurking through the forums here as well. thanks in advance for anyone that responds with some tips. thanks!
-Mark

BTW my first problem is a sound problem with my x men which i posted a thread here>>

Hello everyone im New here and looking for some Direction :)

Wellcome too the group! THeres some of us here that still don'nt know what we are doing and we have been doing this for many years!

If your looking for books or video's, try searching Google for "Randy Fromm". He's an expert at arcade repair and there are DIY videos out there. Theres even a Randy Fromm school (I think in Vegas?) that has open enrollment every once in awhile.

Bob Roberts also has great info on his site. Theres repair videos on YouTube. Theres lots of KLOVers in the repair forum that can help you also.

hey guys thanks for the friendly welcome and im gonna dive into some of that info.
