Hell freezes over: Duke Nukem sighting!

For what it's worth people are already selling used copies on Craigslist, claiming the game sucks. I guess I am not sure why someone would try selling something by telling a prospective buyer that it sucks...

I don't know enough about the current generation of consoles to determine if people have a way of copying the game and then selling the original, but it seems likely.

Sure you can, but it's far easier and cheaper to just download it...why fork out the money for a retail copy, to make a copy of it and sell it at a loss?

Especially since a fake would be easy to spot.

I have no idea, but there are at least 10 retail copies for sale on Craigslist in this area and the game has only been out for two days. Prices are $40 and up.

Yeah those are kids dumping the game cuz it sucks and Gamestop probably offered them 10 bucks or something to buy it back.. most bootleggers just download a rom these days, a lot of them probably wouldn't even know what to do with a retail copy

I think the best review I've seen this game get so far is a 5/10, I'm kinda surprised given that it was developed by Gearbox (also developed Borderlands)

Thanks for the tip, I'm seeing the same thing around here too. $45 is the low on our Craigslist. I think I'll pick up the game at $10, just for the fond memories of Duke Nukem 3D (much like I did for Toe Jam & Earl III on the Xbox). For me the first game showed what 32 bit systems could do and I was very impressed. The best reviews for this one say it is like a rough HD remake.

It would be interesting to see how much of the game was the original 3d realms version and how much of it is gearbox, if it's mostly a 3d realms game it seems like it could unnecessarily tarnish gearbox's up & coming reputation

I am sure some of it came from the old game, but I don't think anyone's going to admit anything at this point. The development team at 3DRealms was let go a few years ago.

I think at one time George Broussard was on KLOV, but he's been gone for years.

Maybe I should hop over to Gearbox and ask them ;) their offices are about 3 minutes from my house

I can't think of any major game release in recent memory that has gotten this many bad reviews.

The Gearbox forums are a good read right now. Joe Siegler is running the forums over there. He used to be at 3drealms and was actually the original voice of Duke Nukem in the side scroller game from the early 90s.

I haven't played it so I really can't comment, and I've been out of the FPS genre a long time so my opinion is not exactly expert (only played Left 4 Dead 2 all the way though, and played Black Ops exactly once).

I would have held them to that preorder if you still have the original receipt. As for the game yeah it might have been good if the same thing came out a decade ago when it was supose to be launched. The problem is that people have been way to desensitized to everything already to the point where nothing is going to be good anymore.

There are so many more games and options now that a mediocre game doesn't stand a chance.

Perhaps the most memorable moment in my years of video game playing was the first time I played Star Wars Jedi Knight on my PC after installing a Voodoo Rush card. What an amazing leap in graphics, audio and gameplay. The only thing that comes close was the first time I saw Defender in the arcades.
