height of chairs for cocktail games...

Cocktail stools

I purchased stool back in December for my cocktail and there are certain barstool manufactures that make 18in stools which are the perfect height for the cocktail.

I have two of your standard run of the mill everyday metal folding chairs for my Super Pac cocktail. They work just fine.

I always had my cocktail sitting at "default" height, and had the same chair issue as you. Then one day while eyeing my bar, I decided to see how high the leg adjustments would go. Much to my surprise, they go flush with the bar height, which was a standard height I just don't remember the measurement. I moved the cocktail to the end of the bar, and it looks like it was made as an extension of the bar. Also, regular bar stools now work nicely with it. Long story short, depending on your cocktail you can raise the height to work with other chairs. See picture below.

I've got two nice purple leather club chairs I'm going to use for mine. Standard chair height is 18 - 20 inches anything within that range should be fine. Anything outside that range should be impossible to buy unless it is custom made and extremely uncomfortable too

I think that' something like 71 cm (my manual says that's the max height, but the manual might be off).

I've gone the other way - I lowered my cocktail (Atari Missile Command) as far down as it would go, so that it serves well as a coffee table in front of my sofa.

Personally I can't imagine having the seat above the controls, you'd be bending way down to get your hand on the thing. Better to have the controls at or a little above seat height, so that your arm is pretty flat when you put your hand on the buttons. You don't want it too low, of course, then you can't see the display properly, but I'd go with something like you see in TheBasement's picture - seats just a bit below the controls.

Not sure why but that cocktail looks odd at that height. How wobbly is it that far up??
