Anybody picking this up tomorrow? I definitely am. I really should finish Dante's Inferno first though. And now I'm really getting into Mini Ninjas too. It never ends.

Very interested, but won't bite right away. I'm concerned that too much time will be spent doing mundane tasks and progressing the story with very little "gameplay".

I played the demo and thought it was the biggest piece of shit I'd ever played. You have to hold a button to make the guy move!? There doesn't seem to be much of a "GAME" there...just context driven button presses/stick movements. It's like a modern Dragon's Lair. ...and the ultra creepy "Polar Express" robo-real characters? Oooph, totally off putting. Even my girlfriend said "They look so creepy!"

So I look up this game online...and it's getting GREAT REVIEWS!!?!?!?!? Wow. I think that's it for me.... I'm officially out of the loop on the current state of video games.

How much $$$ would you say you spend a year on console games? I'm impressed.

Not even close to as much as most dudes here spend on arcade games and beer. Hell blackdick buys three arcade games a day and nobody says shit.

This game is certainly not indicative of the current state of console gaming. It's just something different. I certainly wouldn't recommend buying it if you haven't played something of this type before (Indigo Prophecy is probably the only other game remotely like it). I'm also getting the game free since I've built up so many reward zone certificates.

For me ...Probably less than $200. A few XBLA or PSN download games...I'll take a shot at some cheapie bin $10 or $20 games...and maybe whatever the big Nintendo game of the year is. i'm playing too much pinball now...console games have become pretty boring for the most part. The last games I really got into (enough to finish) were Mario Galaxy and Bioshock. I'm pretty disappointed in New Super Mario Wii ...I thought it would be some good classic Mario, but it's kind of boring. I feel like I'm enduring it rather than enjoying it.

Think of all the animals you could be saving with that money instead...

This is a valid point, but it applies to all of us, no matter who we are or what we buy. Unless you give away all of your income except for the small fraction of it that it takes to barely survive, you're a selfish SOB just like me.

can not wait for this game tomorrow, gonna be at my friends playing all day since I don't have a ps3 anymore. They actually said its a tear jerker????

Oh, I agree I'm a selfish SOB. Right now my money is going towards a goal, so I don't get what i want until the goal is reached. Then I can do the same.

But how about a "Nick's Game Thread" where you can talk about all these games, instead of 4 separate threads all about the four games coming out this week....and then next week....and then....

How about a "Frizz's, M1A's, etc. Politics Thread" where they can talk about all of their nonsense, instead of 100000000000000000000 separate threads all about the nonsense that's going on today....and then tomorrow....and then....

It's amazing to me that people seem to be annoyed by gaming threads ON A GAMING FORUM. Granted, it's a forum dedicated to arcade games, but still. I would at least expect to see more console gaming threads than political threads, but it's not even close. I guess there are really just not very many real "gamers" here. Maybe I'll start a thread about that. Well maybe I shouldn't, cause lord knows that I just post way too much. At this rate, I'll have 20000 posts in only about 10 years (compared to someone like Frizz who has over 20000 posts in only three or for years).

What's wrong with a thread on each game? If you don't care for the console games, don't click in the thread. It is the Chat About Anything forum after all.

As for Heavy Rain, I won't get it because I don't have a PS3. I saw a demo of it a week or two ago and it looks interesting, with different ways to solve the crimes, etc.

I don't see a problem at all Nick... this IS on the "Chat About Anything" Forum.

I would read threads in a Console/Modern Gaming sub-forum much more often than those in the existing Talk Radio, Politics, and Religion sub-forum.

I won't touch the religion sub-forum with a ten foot pole. Reading those type of thread do nothing for me at all on any level.

If we have a religion sub-forum we should DEFINITELY have a Console Gaming Subforum.

I have it on order from Amazon - it shipped yesterday, and since I got free shipping, I expect it late this week or early next. I played the demo and was intrigued. Not enough to buy it, but the reviews convinced me that there's something there I couldn't see in just the demo. I've since played some Indigo Prophecy on PC and see why people are looking forward to HR - almost everything you do could possibly alter the game in some fashion. Good times.

Come on mod, what's your problem with console stuff anyway? The same argument could be made on damn near very post/forum on here ("Whoever's FOR SALE Thread - Never ends!" etc). The point is, some people may never look at a "Nick's game thread" but might if they see the specific game in the subject.

Fine, I DID do that the with Wii thread of yesteryear, but that was mainly to try and bump off the Noice date thread of the time :D

My problem is that my budget doesn't allow me to buy games, so I get reminded of it every week or so. :001_ssad:

But I wouldn't mind seeing a Console/PC Gamers sub-forum either. Then you can take your stickies there, too...

You know what I did mod is I signed up for a Citi Platinum Rewards card 2-3 years ago. Every 2-3 months I get a $50 Best Buy gift card. I have bought the past 5-10 games that way.

And I do pay it off every month :) :)
