Okay, soldering my last cap on my Sanyo EZV amp board for my DK Junior.

Two of the caps, the ones with the screws, had white stuff - heat sink compound. I wiped the old stuff off because I'm an idiot. Is it needed on this board. There was not much of it at all on the board to begin with.

I'd hate to be this close to being finished only to have to go out and buy something else, but I don't want this to catch fire or anything.

Thoughts? Advice?

Thanks,
Paul

Radio Shack # 276-1372 Silicone heat sink grease

Yes, you need to smear a thin film of fresh grease where you removed it.

Thank you Ken. I figured as much. Guess I'll be making a run to the mall tonight to Radio Shack after the kids are asleep. I so close to finishing this thing I can almost taste it. Or maybe that's just the lead in the solder :)

If you happen to have any thermal interface material used when replacing/reinstalling heatsinks to CPU's you can use that. I like to use Arctic Silver Ceramique as it's non-conductive vs regular Arctic Silver...
