About to pick up my first pin later this week, but have some concerns about the move.

The machine is in a nice, icy-cold basement about an hour from me. The weather this week, however, is going to be high 90s with extremely high humidity. I'm wondering if I should be concerned about moving the machine out into that weather for the move. Should I be worried about condensation? When I went to check out the machine last weekend my glasses fogged over immediately when I walked out of the house.

Any suggestions?

this is just my thoughts

the one thing i would do is cover it.the sun will destory a set of plastics if it beating on the playing field.also this will let it warm up slowly.finally maybe i would just let it set for a day if there is heavy condensation wipe what you can off.

I have a cool garage and when ever I open it on a hot humid day the glass fogs from the inside. I open the coin doors and it helps clear up the glass. I try to keep the doors closed as much as possible to keep this from occurring too much. Definitely not the best situation for a pin. Mine are moving after this Summer to a climate controlled place. I don't think that just a one day move would be too terrible for a pin.

More important is that you don't drop it because of sweaty hands. It's almost 100 here today!

Congrats on your pin!

Thanks for the input. I had planned on covering it anyway but didn't consider what the sun could do to the plastics.

Yeah, it was 98 here today and supposed to be again until Wednesday (pickup day). It's brutal out there right now. Incredibly intense sun. And humid as hell.

I feel sorry for you guys, lol..you probably rarely ever have heat like this, right? :p

It's been over 98 degrees for the high every day this month except the 1st. Only 2 under 100. The sad part is I don't feel like it's that hot. What the heck!? I've fried every summer for 29 years, I turn 30, and heat.....no big thang. Beats me, but I'm gonna enjoy it while it doesn't bother me. :D

Part of it is we had such a cold spring. We're just getting into the hot stuff now.

I was in Dallas in mid-June and the heat already kicked my butt. We can get a summer without topping 100 and we can get one where it will top it for a week or so. It always seems hot, though :)

I suppose it's better moving a machine in this weather than in 10 below with 40 below wind chill ;)

Also the humidity is the real killer. I was in Vegas and it was 100+. It didn't feel that hot and I didn't sweat at all but once I landed in MN oh man was it bad. Only 90 degrees but 70% humidity at midnight and I was sweating really bad.

put sticky plastic foil over the holes where the backbox/cabinet connect to keep most moisture out. you'll get condensation on the outside of the pin (mainly the glass) but almost nothing inside. leave the game long enough in the new room before switching on
