Unfortunately, I need to REMOVE my thanks to klov member Arcade game for a Nanao monitor he sold me. He says he "warranties" his monitors, but I went thru 2 chassis with the guy. The first one had an issue when I first saw it at his house. It booted to black screen until it was warmed up. He assured me it was the wiring harness that he was using to test it with. He thought it was a bad wire apparently. But, I had the same problem with it at my house. I told him, and he agreed to exchange it or give me a refund.
However, the second chassis also had a problem that he told me he fixed. (He was actually going to give it to me the first time, but he said he hit it on something and it then had a vertical scrolling problem). Again, he said he fixed it, and it looked good when he showed it to me, but less than 24 hours after the exchange, I too had the same vertical scrolling problem at my house. I even tested with 2 different boards, and got the same problem with both. His answer: "I have never had a problem with a Nanao chassis before. I offered you the refund when you were here, but you didn't take it. I don't know what to tell you."
He doesn't understand the way warranties work, and that the warranty for the first chassis should transfer to the second one. Again, he didn't even warranty the second one for 24 hours. We have since had words with each other. I cursed him out for ripping me off for $225, and he wanted to fight me. But, I'm not dumb enough to drive to South Central L.A. to get into a fight.
I have since fixed the problem. The other day I became obsessed with finding the issue, and even looked over the chassis with a magnifying glass, trying to spot any cracked solder, broken traces, etc. Luckily, I found a hairline crack on the vertical hold pot. I fixed it with a little solder, and I haven't seen the issue since.
He might chime in and try to defend himself, but all he kept repeating to me was: "I offered you the refund when you were here, but you didn't take it."
I won't put his real name here, pm me if you want to know who it is. Perhaps some have had great experiences with the guy, but I sure didn't.
Just a heads up to others out there in So. Cal.
