Heading to Orlando soon - video arcades?

Going soon. Know about the Disney Quest place. What else is there?
TIA.

I was only in Disney last year, so am not sure of any other places.
DisneyQuest was nice, I did the last two hours for $20 like people here mentioned. Just check what time they close!! I had been told that they closed at 11 on weekdays so waited till 8:30 to see if I could get the $20 deal a little early. They gave it to me but unfortunately at the the time of year I was there, they closed at 10pm so I only got 1.5 hours.
Still great.

Many of the Disney resorts had arcade games, ranging from 3-4 to a full room. If you are interested I could look through my pictures and see if I can figure out which one were large. Actually I know the one at the Beach / Yacht Club was big
And a few that were smaller, Wilderness lodge, Wilderness Campground, Boardwalk

The Contemporary Resort has a nice huge gameroom. Or it used to be. It used to be packed with classics back in the day. And a sweet shooting gallery. Thats where I first played 720 and Paperboy. You can take the monorail and stop off there and check it out. Be sure to take a bunch of pics where ever you end up.

When's 'soon'? We'll be there from May 2-8.

I think we have kids around the same age. We were there in September and your kids will have a blast. The hopper tickets were worth it and we had a blast at Magic Kingdom and Animal Kingdom. Even took the little one with us on the Safari ride. Can't wait to go back in a year or two. Your kids will love it.

Thanks. Will send a pm shortly. I do have some questions. :)

The Contemporary

Just went in February. The contemporary still has a large arcade. It moved upstairs to the same floor as Chef Mickey's. Lots of redemption, couple of pinballs, and a few classics. It is probably the largest arcade on property besides Disney Quest.

Okay, where's Disney Quest located?

Heading there with the other crazies in June....

Sad.

Hearing people talk about the lack of arcades in Orlando. I grew up there, worked at Disney and all- and Orlando used to be an arcade mecca. Contemporary Resort had one of the best gamerooms in the world. International Drive had 5 or 6 huge ones too. Ugghhh,,,,

C'mon- someone tell me why a permanent CLASSIC arcade wouldn't do well right outside Disney property? I swear I'm gonna do it!! heheheh

Yeh, that saddens me deeply. I have very vivid memories of that arcade. I went to WDW 4 times during the 80's and stayed at the Contemporary each time. That place was the best. Especially the arcade.

Austin

Yea it would be a fun but kinda long hot drive from Austin :) hey are there many arcades left in the Austin area?

There is www.arcadeufo.com but not really any other dedicated arcades that I know of. There is a bar that has some older arcade games - kungfusaloon.com . I haven't been there. There are of course the "family entertainment" centers like Dave and Busters, etc.

Austin

The creator of WFD played drums at the Continental Club in Austin with local Austin legendary guitarist Junior Brown. Have you ever been to the Continental?
