We're taking a quick vacation to Branson, MO next week and I talked the wife into stopping in Springfield to spend some time at 1984. Looking forward to getting some good playtime in on some classics before we hit the water parks and amusement parks. Fun for all!

You should have a good time there...lots of classics to play :) The owners are nice too, spent quite a bit of time chatting with them when I was there last summer. Make sure you play their Tron...it's an early machine with completely different patterns (I mention it because I see you have a Tron ;) )

Completely different patterns? If this was a rom revision that was easily obtainable, you would think that there would be a lot of people on here talking about swapping it out. Especially with all of the "Tron fever" that has been rampant over the last year or so...

From MAWS:

OLDER VERSION (set 4 in Mame) :

* Level 1 (RPG) gives you 1,000 on the timer instead of 500 in the I/O Tower game, making it easier to get the 1,000 point bonus for killing all grid bugs in level 1.

* The series of sounds that play when blocks are destroyed in the MCP Cone game are higher in pitch than in the other revisions of Tron.

* Each level features different pattern schemes from the other revisions - Play level 2 (COBOL) in Set 1, 2, or 3 and then play level 2 in Set 4, keeping the Game Difficulty setting at the default (5) each time, and you'll see what we mean.

It plays just like revision 4 in MAME (well, almost. Your arm actually appears to go in "notches" as you spin it on their machine, whereas it doesn't in MAME). The patterns are the same in revision 4 as their game, and the easy way to tell on level 1, on the grid bugs, you get 1000 on the timer instead of 500.

Actually, that's not quite right. There is no extra bonus for killing all the grid bugs, like there is on the MCP cone for getting all the blocks. Upon killing the last one, you're just awarded whatever is on the timer, and automatically head straight to the center (and you'll actually go thru the wall if you're not in front of the entryway!)
