Does anyone have a complete (or nearly) list of head to head type pinball machines (e.g. Joust)? I am curious just how many of these exist, which are the most fun and whether or not any are affordable???

Thanks!

in addition to joust

alvin g and co(gottlieb) produced 500 each of the following

a.g soccer ball

a.g football

as well as 100 u.s.a football

and these are better than joust because they can be played as a single player

but goodluck finding one

Manufacturer: D. Gottlieb & Company (1931-1977) [Trade Name: Gottlieb]
Type: Electro-mechanical (EM)
Production: 110 units
Specialty: Head-to-Head Play
Notable Features: This is a head-to-head game where two players at opposite ends of the playfield compete in simultaneous play. Each player has flipper buttons which control only those flippers facing the opponent. Ball enters play from between the flippers.

This game has 8 flippers. The "head" has two backglasses: one side shows the Red Team then the Yellow Team, while the other side shows the Yellow Team then the Red Team.

Concept by: Wayne Neyens
Design by: Ed Krynski
Art by: Gordon Morison
Notes: After the original production run, an additional 100 games were made on special order for sale to one buyer from Canada.

**One half of the top glass broke years ago and need to be replaced. The machine has not been played for several years and needs to be cleaned up

Joust can be played as a single player also. (It just isn't as fun)

I overheard someone saying you could link two nba fastbreaks but I don't know how head to head it gets or if it's just simultaneous play and scoring.

They had head to head NBA at the Seattle show. It was awesome!!! My 10 year old son kicked my ass a couple times. Little bugger!! He also scored over 40mil on Iron Man...actually had one of the higher scores for most of the show...

Was it a 2 sided head to head type machine?

No, you just connect them side by side with (if I'm not mistaken) a RS-232 cable.

I don't know if what you do on your game affects the play on the other game or not, like if modes get activated simultaneously or whatever.

War is very cool, but good luck finding one.

Friend of mine has one :) (here's a pic of it at a local show. Ignore the big red button on the front by the coin door...he rigged up a button to coin it up for the show, since it didn't have freeplay)

Technically it's only 4 :p

And... I left behind a TON of stuff when I moved out of my warehouse so I'm almost like a normal person again. A normal person has 80 pinballs crammed into their basement right?
