He’s on fire! Jedidentist’s NBA Jam TE Restoration

Just to update. I finally replaced my faded instruction sticker with a new one from a set of worn NOS ones and added my 6th game into my switcher...Superman!

I'm not going to say its my first choice, but the price was right and being a 2 player game, it didn't need kick harnesses! If a TMNT 2 ever shows up, or maybe an X-men, it will probably be quickly replaced.

Question

Hey from a newbs perspective, what parts would I need to get to add The Simpsons in my NBA Jam cabinet so I can play both games on it?

If you want to do a simple swap of the boards in the existing Jamma harness, then i believe all you would need is the Simpsons board and plug it in. All the weird wiring and stuff I did was to have all the boards in 1 cabinet that allows me to switch between them with a remote control.

Gotcha. I don't think I have the knowledge to install a 6 in 1 like yours but what you have is so damn cool. I'd probably just add Simpsons and Turtles to my nba jam cabinet if I could do it.

It can be done with a little bit of guts. Fortunately, both of those are Konami games, so you can buy kick harnesses for them, albeit, you have to add diodes to them to prevent feedback (although I still get issues occasionally). Someone is trying to work on a solution to avoid the kick harnesses altogether, but I'm so far into doing it this way, that it would be a waste of money for me.

Nice meeting you last weekend jedi, was nice to shake the hand of someone who appreciates this game as much as i do. Instruction card looks good up there!

Another board added to the setup, after 2 months of troubleshooting and repair...X-men.

I had a ram error that had to be repaired and I recapped the custom sound chip, so I should be good for awhile. I also had to do yet another set of kick harnesses...diodes and all. This set came from Bob Roberts. It was okay, but I would've likes another foot of wire. Additionally, the sets I got didn't have a wire for the 3rd action button...even though he has it labeled as a white wire on his paperwork. I ended up repositioning the coin door ground wire and using that, because I have nothing wired to the coin door. A minor hiccup, but annoying nonetheless.

Sorry to bump an old thread but I was wondering if anyone has the TE control panel scan file that was released in this thread. I wrote to Jedi today also to see if he still has it. Gameongraphix has a version they sell ( http://www.gameongrafix.com/products/nba-jam-cpo-fantasy-tournament-cpo-935 ) but I was hoping to get Jedi's scan because his cp is original. Im hoping to get the files and find someone to print them, I'm sure there's quite a few member that would be interested in a TE cp as well.
