Having trouble tracking down a leaf switchs for a centipede and Asterroids?

Trying to find a new one for centipede (fire button is acting up. Cleaned the connectors a bunch of times) but just don't know what to look for one on quartersarcade.com and Mikesarcade.com.

I also need a new button switch for Asteroids. One of the rotate buttons is giving me guff. I haven't had time to take it apart so if anyone automatically can tell me what to buy, I would really appreciate it... looks kinda tricky to take apart the controller area.

you're going to have to take it apart if you get a new one anyway, why not just do it now and see if you can save yourself a couple bucks? might be as easy as cleaning the contacts on the switch (slip a business card or dollar bill between the contacts as you press the button and slide it back and forth a few times).

I've done that (used business cards and nail files) with my hand up the machine via coin door. it fixes it for a day or two and then I have to do the same thing. I just need to replace these switches.

Have you flipped down the control panel and looked at it? would be a heck of alot easier then reaching up thru the coindoor and you might see the problem. Leaf switches are not complex maybe a wire is loose.

I can to centipede. can't find a control panel release for Asteroids.

I've cleaned centipede fire button but it dies every other day. wires look ok. I think it's the switch.

Worst case scenario, you can order universal switch blades from Pinball Resource to replace the existing ones. Trim to length, solder or rivet on the contact where needed.

You used a nail file on it? That's your problem right there, you sanded off the gold flashing and the underlying metal is exposed, causing it to oxidize. Only use anything abrasive like that on high voltage leaf switches, like those in EM pinball machines, with tungsten contacts. Anything that interfaces with a circuit board, only use paper/cardboard and alcohol.
