So here's a list of games I currently own.

Donkey Kong
Donkey Kong jr.
Popeye
Mario bros(widebody)
Centipede
Joust
Ms pacman (upright)
2 ms pacman cocktails
Galaga (currently not working)
Space invaders (just picked it up super nice!)
Jump bug

My wife has been hounding me to get rid of a few of my games. I've already made a deal to let go of 1 ms PAC cocktail. It's bumming me out. She wants more room in the house and garage. I agree something has to go but I know I'm going to regret it. I'm thinking jump bug will be on the cull list. Anyone else dealing with this?

I've been wrestling with the idea of getting rid of several games lately, especially when they are duplicates even if they are in a different cabinet style. It seems hard to do though. :/

I had to get rid of my Centipede UR and it's just killing me. I have had that game longer than any of my other games, but just like you I had to make room. Granted I have a Millipede with the Multipede kit, but it still bothers me that I had to let that other one go.

If it's a space problem, then dump the two cocktails (you still have the upright) as a starting point. Alternately, if you can dump another table and use the cocktail in it's place, then keep one and dump the upright Ms Pac. Either way, you don't need 3 Ms Pac cabs.

And get the Galaga going or get rid of it. It's a lot easier to negotiate over a working game than a dead one.

It's one reason multi machines are nice. But original is still best by far! I have a deal with the wife that the house is "hers" and the garage is "mine", helps when you have a 2,000 sqft garage though!
The main room of the upstairs apartment is the gameroom. We are converting one of the bedrooms up there to a TV lounge and I get space for 4 more machines!! Woohoo.

Sorry, any chance you could do a gameroom expansion on the house?

I don't have anywhere near that size of garage, but I do have the same deal. The garage is mine, so I can pack it as full as I want.

In the ops position, I would say get rid of the multiples first. Then make an arrangement with the wife so there is space that is dedicated to your games that you can both live with; then make sure you fight to keep that agreement. I have had to defend my garage a few times. :)

I just keep finding ways to pack more games in. :D

I originally figured my basement arcade would hold 12 games. Then I found a way to add a couple more. I just brought 3 more games in last week. 14 working games and 3 projects, plus a gutted cabinet that I'm junking. I really do think that this is the limit of what I can squeeze into it.

My wife's only comment was that she had no idea where I was going to put them. I told her to come down and check it out once I got them all in place. The arcade and my adjacent work bench area is my space. :)

I underestimated my garage potential as well! I originally figured I could put 10 games out there. Now I have 3 pins and 14 vids, and one of the vids is a ridiculously huge Time Crisis 3. I think I could fit another game if I had to. :)

We took a family vote. Which included a 6 year old and 9 year old. I voted keep everything. They only want to keep the ms PAC and centipede. I just picked up the SI so I will keep it for a while. Im trying to figure a space. My wife says the garage is for cars not arcade games lol. I might be posting a few in the for sale section soon. Only as a last resort.

Damn, beat me to it :)

In all truth, I got rid of my wife and have never been happier.
I now have one of Rich's "Space Paranoids" posters framed and hanging in my kitchen where
some ugly spaghetti painting once hung.
I also have TONS of closet space, and no limitations on the number of games I can put in the basement.

Please send me a PM if you decide to sell any. I live over in MS (your neighbor). Maybe we can work something out.

3 Ms Pacs means you're just hoarding if you actually wanted to keep them all...especially when 2 are cocktails.

Ditch the two cocktails, if that's not enough...then I second the "Get rid of the wife" suggestion.

I am working on the assumption that this is a standard 2 car garage. 1/2 of that is yours anyway you look at it. Put a divider down the middle. Your games on one side, and her car on the other. You can fit 12-14 classics in half of a two garage pretty easily. Your list should fit in your side nicely.
