Having problems with Galaga, Millipede, and Star Gate

Recently I was put in charge of repairing my local arcade's Galaga, Millipede, and Star Gate machines. My previous experience has been simple board changes, coin mech repairs, and switching out sticky cherry switches and buttons, as well as some unrelated soldering and electrical knowledge.

Pictures of the problems are here: http://imgur.com/a/L8Hnr

All three machines are in great shape, as far as cabinets and harness / controls. The boards / power supplies / CRT circuits are what I think are the issue.

Galaga has a brand new board in it, although I'm unsure if its hooked in correctly, I'm bringing in the manuals next week. The audio is rather unsettling though, a faint electronic gargly buzz and the sound of your ship exploding over and over again.

Millipede shows vertical columns of junk data and the screen has a verticle scan line that loops on the screen as if you were looking at it through a camera. I think the power supply might be bad.

Star Gate just shows a grid of junk data thats nearly impossible to decipher. The machine came with all the schematic scrolls.

Does anyone know the cause of these problems and how I can diagnose and fix them?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Start by doing a bit of research, google and the search field here.. Then, go back and try out some of what you've found..

If you want real help, you need to include real info.. With detailed photos of all the hardware.. As "new board in the galaga" says nothing to us.. It could be a bootleg, could be anything. Letting us know if the power supplies are new, original, switching.. Helps allot..

Not trying to be an ass.. Just do a bit of homework before you waste your time and others with limited info.

Also, break out your multi meter and take voltages.. That's key!

Sure, next time I'm over I'll take more detailed photos. The Galaga internal photos are so terrible because of the pitch black conditions, had to use flash.

I'll do some research and get back to you guys. Thanks.
