Hey everyone,

Recently moved up to Vancouver, been here less than a week, and already +1 on uprights. This one I'm particularly proud to own: a red Computer Space!

Found when I started reaching out to collectors up here. It's in amazing condition and something I've been hunting for a long time.

Holy Moley! Everything complete? Looks like it. That's one game that I'd let out of my basement and into the rest of the house. They're just so beautiful.

Very very nice. Such a great cabinet. Which Vancouver did you move to, WA or BC?

Glad to see it stayed in BC, I talked to the owner in Kits a few times just couldn't make a deal that would work. Enjoy and welcome, nice score!

Nice!!

hmm... not sure why, but I noticed your Xbox controllers in the reflection.... looks like one has the chat pad. ;)

Also.. which movie was this in?... I seem to recall it being Logan's Run or Jaws???? That's gonna drive me crazy now.

edit... thank you Wiki

"A blue Computer Space arcade unit was seen in the original set for the television program The Electric Playground, and was featured in a story they did about the formation of Atari.
A Computer Space was shown in the 1973 film Soylent Green, and the 1975 film Jaws."

Guess I got Soylent mixed up with Logan's. :)

Thanks for the welcome, BCers! I've technically lived in BC for 12 days, but due to a bunch of travel I've only spent about 4 days in my apartment. Still getting to know the city and will definitely hit you guys up for more info once I get more settled in. That and this apartment can only hold the one machine. :p

For those asking, yes, it's the one that was in Kits. I met up with him this afternoon and worked out a deal. Also had to get it here to the apartment since I only have a small hatchback. Interesting origin story, seems like the previous owner bought it from a bar in 1980, played it a few times, and then covered it up until it went to the new owner in 06.

Fantastic acquisition! I've always loved Computer Space; truly a show-piece, and glad to see it on display in your apartment -- looks like it fits right in!

Lucky dog. People say the gameplay is blah but i dont care. Its still frickin awesome, and a super neat piece of history. SOmeday i will have one. And bigfoots stuffed carcass as well.

Don't sneeze next to one of those. They weight practically nothing and might fall over. I have only seen one, it happened to be yellow.
