Have you raided a warehouse today?

What I brought home:

Chris: Yes. He has taken amazingly good care of these. A number of them were converted to other games along the way, but a lot are still 100% original.

Nice buy. But I have a question: Why isn't the whole warehouse empty? :p

When I go to a warehouse raid my answer is yes. :D

I think a lot of these guys sit on this stuff for years (and still) thinking that

a) they'll fix them up to sell for full value someday
b) put some of the games back on route (at least the Ms Pacs)
c) don't want to bother with people nosing through their storage

It's kind of like the classic car sitting outside in the yard, obviously rotting away, obviously not getting restored. Owner doesn't want to sell, because they might restore it one day. Eventually it's either ruined (like a wet or infested game) or it gets sold on the cheap, with the owners dreams not really panning out.

Did he seem like he would sell any of those Ms Pac's or Galaga? Or his he waiting and selling them a couple at a time?

He's not in any hurry to get rid of stuff, he wants to go thru every game and check if they work, condition, etc before he comes up with a price. All the Ms Pacs and Galagas he has pulled the boards out of then to store then so he has to bring it all back and test every single one.
Also he is making a list and giving a friend of his first dibs on the dedicated games. I'm heading back to his place next week so if anyone local wants me to check on a certain game let me know and I can ask him about it.

The most amazing thing that I saw was this huge pile conversion kits. I didn't have the camera with me, so I had to snap a cell phone pic. If I can get it out of my phone I'll post it. It was at least 25 unopened boxes of WWF Wrestling conversion kits. He said they belonged to his friend.

I'm probably the only one who cares, but I wonder if these are Superstars, Wrestlefest, or Wrestlemania? I'd be interested in a Wrestlefest kit. Nice find overall.

a) I didn't win the lottery.
b) I am not sure if he has even tried to think about a bulk price
c) A lot (1/3 to 1/2) belongs to a friend of his and he can't make any decisions for his friend.

My impression is that:
a) he knows they have limited value, but he still wants to fix as many as he can.
b) he knows that he doesn't want to do routes anymore
c) he doesn't want annoying people nosing through his stuff

He spent part of his time asking me about value and what the market is like out there. He is aware that there is a limited market, but he is still emotionally attached to some of the games. And he is savvy enough to know that a working MsPac will sell for more than a non-working one. That's why he wants to take some time to try and get some of these working.

I can't imagine what he has spent on storage over the years! WOW some really nice stuff! VERY NICE.

He has actually spent basically nothing on storage. He owns the land and the building outright from what he said to me. This is his business place and he moved things that were not pertinant to his current business to the back and kept his current equipment up at the front. It is only recently that he realized that he could (or should) act on cleaning some space to get rental income. The arcade games being the oldest business venture are the ones to go.

Did he seem like he would sell any of those Ms Pac's or Galaga? Or his he waiting and selling them a couple at a time?

He will be selling all of the games. But he would like to be able to try to get as many as possible running.

I'm probably the only one who cares, but I wonder if these are Superstars, Wrestlefest, or Wrestlemania? I'd be interested in a Wrestlefest kit. Nice find overall.

I will ask the next time I contact him.

I was over at Danny's on Saturday for a little while and his friend that owns the WWF kits was there. They are Sega Naomi conversion kits. They have a Naomi software pack, 4 joysticks, 4 sets of buttons, a translight, side art, two WWF Royal Rumble posters and a mounting bracket with a test switch, service switch, volume control and a coin counter mounted to it. Basically everything you need to convert any 4 player cabinet to WWF Royal Rumble. At this point, he hasn't decided how he wants to sell them off or what price. Last he said was he didn't think there was a market for this stuff so he hadn't come up with a price.

Glad to see some of you are into getting that Dragon's Lair. Liberate the mofo...

The guy must have a shit ton of parts having operated for that many years...keep digging that source, I'm sure more will be uncovered.

What is the game in front of the Robotron? At first glance, the colors looked Food Fight like, but upon closer look, that's not it, but I can't figure it out.

You talking about that "Candy Man" cabinet? Seems like some vending/redemption stuff. The cabinets next to Robotron that are facing away from the camera kinda interesting....I wonder what those are?
