Brought home a MKII that was put into a Data East cab of some sort. Guy says it plays but it's black and white. It was thrown into a package deal so I didn't bother to turn it on. Get it home open it up and the mess of wire is unbelievable. Long story short, no wires going to the monitor chassis. Monitor ground is going to the back of the coin box. Red is going to one of the buttons. Stopped there and decided it's getting completely rewired. Anybody ever have this happen or worse?

Don't have pics of it, but I had a cab once that was wired red. As in, every wire inside the cab was red. AC, DC, 5 volts, 12 volts, monitor, cp, everything....

Yeah, the wiring in this game was all fucked up... I didn't know if I was gonna' shit, or go blind...

Unfortunately I'm pretty sure it belonged to a guy... I think it's pretty unlikely that a female would stash a dildo in her boyfriends/husbands cab.

since I'm new to arcade stuff I thought I'd just tell you about a mess of a PC I fixed once. A family friend brought over an old Compaq tower he wanted me to change the hard drive. When I opened it there was a ton of dust in it and the dust was practically just like dryer lint! I ended up cleaning out all these mega dust bunnies before even getting to the hdd which swapped out just fine.(man I hate dust!)

I recall fixing a Mortal Komat I conversion some years ago due to the poor wiring job. When I initially opened the cabinet, I found a set of vice-grips holding the grounding wire to the monitor frame. The ground for the game was gone and touching the coin door provided a slight tingly feeling (floating ground). Needless to say, I resolved that issue to make it safe to play, and in general playable.

I have seen much worse, but that is the first that came to mind.
