Most of you have seen the old theater seats from the 1930s I have on one side of my arcade. (If not just check out my photobucket page in my signature)

Well I needed something else on the other side for people to sit on. I found this old bench at an antique swap meet. It came out of a boy's junior high school locker room. It was just under 6 feet long, which is too long to fit nicely in my arcade. I cut it down to 4ft 3inches so it will seat 3 people comfortably.

I then scraped off 20 pieces of gum (yep, 20), sanded down the wood, then primed and painted it with stripes of red, orange, and yellow. I clearcoated it after that. I just like the 80s look of the stripes, so I went with it. I sandblasted the legs, then primed and painted those black (rattle can). I speckled the legs with yellow and orange paint using a toothbrush. You really can't see the speckles in my dimly lit arcade, but oh well, I did it anyway.

Just another cool place to sit down in The Lost Highway Arcade...

Here's some before pics:

Looks nice. Are you going to have to bolt it down to the floor?

Boys middle school locker room... the wave of smells that brings to mind makes me shudder a bit. ;)

The base of the legs are actually big enough so it's very stable. I won't have to bolt it down.

In hindsight I maybe should've rubber coated the bench....LOL

I love the 1970's color combination. Looks like it was custom made to sit next to a Sprint 2 machine!

The hits just keep on coming.......;-).......
