My haunted house has the original rechargeable battery pack. It no longer holds a charge, but fortunately it has not started leaking, so I removed it. I installed a 4 AA remote battery holder, with the diode in the first spot. The game is still not holding on to high scores. I know you can check the voltage at chip Z5, but how. Also, is there anything else I need to do besides soldering the remote holder to the board? Thanks.

Make sure the diode is in the right way.. and that you get ~4v at the board. If that all checks out and it still isn't keeping the scores, it may be the cmos ram chip (5101?) has pooped itself.

cheers

I do have 4 volts at the board, and the diode is in correctly. So the 5101 could be culprit? I guess something I can just replace this?

If i have to replace the 5101, I am going to get the RAM adapter from Pinforge.com, any way to test for sure that it is definitely the 5101 before I do so?
