Haunted House locking up

If so i replaced that when i rebuilt the power supply. I will resolder it and see if that helps.

Yep, that transistor. It's a pretty frail set of holes that transistor goes through and must make connection to the sandwich side of the board (bottom of board but nearside to transistor). Can be a real bugger if the plated thru hole is bad.... you can solder all you want to exposed side but still not make good connection to far side.

And look out for bits of heatsink compound on screws. This can also mess with the connection.

What do you suggest to get the solder to the "sandwich" side of the board? My vias look good. There's no corrosion, but I have no way to verify that it goes through. I resoldering, or tried anyway and it didn't make a difference. I added another ground wire from the cabinet lock to the ground bar in the bottom of the cabinet and that didn't help either.

FOUND IT! Woo Hoo! Thanks to Ed and everyone else who chimed in. It was the transistor, but not the solder joints. Evidently when I put the new transistor in I didn't tighten the screws, so the transistor wasn't sitting against the heat sink. When I took the power supply board out of the game to try and see between the heat sink and board, I found it. I can't believe I'd miss something so obvious. Without y'all I never would have found it. Thanks a million.
