if there isnt any precipitation but its just cold out, like 30s, is hauling games in a back of a pickup a bad idea? I kinda assume it isnt the best but do you guys think it will cause any damage, talking about a 45 minute trip

I would wrap it up in a blanket and make sure it's strapped down good and tight. things contract in the cold and aren't as flexible. I'd watch out for your glass and plastics as well since they will be prone to possibly cracking or chipping.

I've hauled in va when it was in the low 20's. Actually wrapped and left in back of truck overnight. Drove to fl next day. No issues with any of the 5 games I bought. I would let them warm up before I pugged them in!

if it's not too difficult you might want to remove any glass with paint or silkscreen (marquees and bezels, usually) and keep it inside the cab and warm since temperature change is the #1 cause of eventual cracking and flaking.

I always felt the same way. As long as it was frozen I'd be ok, but the problem became the brine and salt that they lay down on the roads, which cause all of it to come up in a spray. So if given the opportunity, it's best to try to lay them down in the back with a tarp wrapped around them.

As long as they are not getting wet!! I usually shrink wrap..

This is what I do but I have a conopy for my truck as well. I live in Northern BC, never had a problem with the cold. Like Dan said just wrap it to keep the water out...

Ive transported in the cold and its not bad but this is the first year ive worked on my games in detached garage and even with a small space heater it is tough. the cool thing is that i converted an old fridge in garage to a kegerator. so i have more motivation to brave the temps.
