The whole thread about the Journey flipper got me thinking. I had this happen to me so I know first hand how it sucks. I had a Megatouch on CL. Game was not in the best shape so I was asking $350. A guy I have known for a couple of years agreed to buy it. I said come and get it. He in turn sets up a meeting with a couple who were interested in it. So with out even paying me the original agreed upon $350 he has the couple meet me at my place. He then proceeds to try and sell it directly to them for I believe it was $600 or $550 in front of me. I was like WTF!! It would have been one thing if I was already paid and he picked it up but to basically try and use me to make a $200+ profit for doing nothing. That is pretty low. What did I do? I did what I could to screw up the sale. I dont know what he told them but I proceeded to point out all kinds of little things so they would pass on the item. They did.

what an a$$, you should have offered to the couple for $350 and told them to not worry about this clown. Good job on screwing up the sale lol. You should have plugged it in to the wall but not far enough for it to power on. "hhmm this is strange, it worked 5 years ago when it was in that moldy damp basement" Thinking about that... one could have a lot of fun if they were to purposely screw up their own sale.

He told me right before he got to my place he was going to sell for $550 or $600. If I was smart I would of told the couple you can have it for $450-$500 and had them give me the money and kick the a$$ out.

Aww... He forewarned you that he was going to be a jackass. That like never happens. You had sooo many options:

1) Tell him to get bent
2) Empty it out except for the screen and sell it to him.
3) Sell it to the people for cheaper and tell him thanks for the hook up.

I can accept that immediate flipping is pretty low but at least have the decorum to not do it in front of the original seller. If someone I had known for years did that in front of me I'd probably have given him five across the face with a knuckle sammich...

Should have played the Ebay trick and told your "friend" that the item is no longer for sale. What a douche..

I never said he was a friend. He was a guy whom I would buy and sell parts to. We had a good repoire until this. Now I do not want anything to do with him.

Does he know your pissed? If not...well he probably does as you posted it on the forums...but anyway if he doesn't, I say keep the relationship intact. Just wait till he offers you a great deal on something and then bring a buyer with you to buy it from you when you go to pick it up. Nothing is better than a taste of his own medicine.

I absolutely agree. Ususaly when you do something back to a person like that, they are the biggest crybabies in the world about it. If you bring the whole situation into light for them, they always find an excuse to why they did it to you and how it was totally different then when you did it back.

And I trust that you do like me? Lick up the tears and savor them!
