I have a bad encrypted CPU here and was curious if anyone has ever tried seeing whats in one? It would be nice to be able to make a replacment but whats the chance the chips inside are even marked.

The encryption scheme is already understood of course (just check the MAME driver). It would probably be easier to make an unencrypted ROM set and replace the glob with a normal 6502.

Making a repro of the encrypted CPU is/was on my list of things to do. Just haven't had time and it's really at the end of the list. Not sure if there is any real interest in it as well.

I believe I have a schematic done already and it's not that complicated and wouldn't take long to layout IIRC, but if it's easier to just use unencrypted ROMs then I'd do that. It's been a while since I looked at it so I don't recall if that was possible.
