Has anyone seen/owned one of these?

I was watching a special about video games, and noticed this. I want one.

Quirky looking Asian chics? I did date one once but they don't let you own them anymore. Furthermore I have seen a bunch.

Seriously though, what would you do with that?

Depends on if it works or not. If yes, I'd find a way to make it hook up to a PS3. If not, I'd either try to make it work, or just it as decoration.

You sure you don't need two people to make it work properly?

A fun drinking game could be made from this monolithic controller.

I would think as long as you aren't using the shoulder buttons (L1/2, R1/2) it would be one person usable. Difficult, but still doable.

It would be hard moving diagonally with that. And it would be hell trying to pull off Street Fighter moves too!

I'm sure you've seen this one before... but if not:

I'm planning to have one built for my coffee table at my new house... now, if that happens or not is entirely different. I would do it myself, but I have no skill or tools to work with. I'm not too crafty, so anything I made would probably come out looking like crap.

My father-in-law has all the stuff needed, and is fairly skilled with woodworking, but he's 300 miles away and always busy.

I notice in the photo at the top that they have that huge controller connected to a PS1 playing PaRappa the Rapper. I admit, that would be fun to play and funny to watch someone playing.

Yeah, I've seen the NES one before. Someone out there made a PS version, it just doesn't have the shape to pull off the same look.

The glass is poorly supported, and would easily break.
