I ordered some 4116 chips and sockets on 08/25 and the order is still showing as "processing". Nine days seems like a long time to be "processing" an order. I sent an email this morning asking about the delay; no reply yet.

Does anyone know of a source for 4116 chips that will ship them in a reasonable amount of time? I know that Bob Roberts has them, and he's as reliable as the sunrise, but they are kind of expensive.

Jbuck has never let me down.......many orders with him. I know on occasion when I have checked his site the status was processing but my order was already out the door. Picked up all my 4116's from him for my Berzerk recently....

my last order took forever but they arrived

How long did it take? I'm tempted to just order the stuff from Bob Roberts, then I know it will be here in a few days; even if it is over twice the price. I got a Missile Command 10 days ago and haven't been able to play it yet, which is aggravating.

Man, I was gonna post something similar. I don't wanna ding the guy or anything but I contacted him before I ordered and he said The IC I was looking for was in stock and to let him know if I was gonna order one. I sent him an email stating it was a go and made the order. A few days later I sent him an email asking for status because the site says order pending. I still haven't got a response. I made the order on 8/27. Is that normal? I'm not really bitching, it would just be nice to know when I should expect the part.

JBuck has always done me right. My last set of chips was sitting in my mail box and the site still said "processing". Everything that I have bought from JBuck has come with a delivery confirmation tag on it. I assume this to mean that he uses delivery confirmation on all of the orders he sends out. Send him a pm, instead of an email and maybe it will actually get to him in the event he has his spam filter set too tight and is not getting your emails.

I emailed him yesterday morning through the contact form on his site.

+1 for JBuck - he's a good guy. Nine days isn't too long to wait after all. It sure beats the alternative! (Yes I went there!)

Stuff happens from time to time that can affect shipping.

You'll get your items from him - he's one of the best. But sometimes the carbon world happens.

I have a package I shipped to Canada in July. It still hasn't arrived at the destination. URG. In August I took my son on our annual father/son road trip so that put items ordered from my site on a long wait for shipping.

JBuck isn't going to run off with someone's money unless he gets hit by a bus and doesn't make it. A $5 to $50 order isn't enough money to waste a reputation over. ;)

Jbuck has always done me right too... Ordered something and the thing was here the next day...

Possible he is on vactaion or something happened?

It does seem like he may have lost some interest in the hobby too. I have not seen him post here or rgvac in a long time.

But I am sure he would make good too many people here know him well.

Speaking of these WI guys anyone know what happened to billybob? I sent him a pm weeks ago asking if he could print something for me..

What alternative are you referring to?

BTW, it has been 10 days now. Whether or not that's a long time to wait depends on your perspective. In comparison to the "6-8 weeks" estimates when ordering a gizmo from the back of a cereal box as a kid, then it is not long at all. In comparison to Bob Roberts, it is about 5 times as long already.

It is actually common these days for internet orders to arrive within a week or so. For example, I ordered from Howard Electronic Instruments later the same day (August 25) and the order arrived the following Monday (August 31), 6 days later. So if an internet store plans to take longer than normal for whatever reason, they should post it on their site.

If I had have known that ordering from this site would result in a longer than normal wait, I would have spent the extra money and ordered from Bob Roberts instead. Not only does he ship as soon as possible after receiving an order, but he answers emails promptly as well.

Bob is an exception and I do not know how he does it.. He is a very trusting person. Also a lot of people that do what jbuck does have a full time job. They stock hard to find parts to help the hobby out. I really doubt he makes much money off it.

But it is weird it has taken him so long because I have always got my parts from him the next day but I live 2 hrs from him. But who knows maybe he is out of town or something. Also possible he sent you an email about something and you never got it and he is waiting for a reply or maybe he is not getting your emails. Email is so unrelaible now adays.

Bob is an exception due to him commonly getting stuff to people in 2 days, but most places manage to get things to people in a week or so. If it is a hobby, and because of that, it will take a long time to ship things, then it should be noted on his site. Otherwise, an online store is assumed to be a business.

I got two emails from coinopchips.com the day I ordered. The first was titled "Order Process", and the second one (sent 4 hours later) was titled "Order Update"; so there shouldn't be any problems with emails getting through.

Still possible your emails are not going through.. I actually have 3 email accounts with 3 different services because of this. once I was receiving emails from someone fine but their spam service was so tight they were blocking emails from two of my email accounts.

Also possible it is lost in the mail. I have shipped things usps priority and had them take over 10 days.

That's the other thing. Unlike Mark Capps at arcadechips.com who did do it for a living. IMHO he had much less of an excuse.

Well Mark used to be one of the good guys and had been around a long time. He had helped allot of people out back in the day. He then just disappeared for a long time. I guess people are having no issues with him now. He has made good with most or all of them now. No excuse for what he did though or the way he handled it.

The thing to is Mark was a regular on rgvac and you would have never guessed he would have just dropped out 100 percent like that. It was not like orders started slowing down going and taking longer to go out they just stopped one day. He pretty much just completely disappeared.

As I mentioned earlier in this thread, the only email I've sent him (yesterday morning) was through the contact form on his site. He should certainly be getting emails sent from his own site.

Yes, that is possible. I'd like hear back from him so I know what's going on though.

Yes if it was through his site he should be getting emails. One day is really not that long though either.

I just hope he is not pulling a Mark Capps but I really doubt it. I would also hate to see him shut down his service because it has become to much of a hassle or people a giving him too much crap. He does have some hard to get stuff.

He then just disappeared for a long time.

Not only that, but he continued to take orders via his website for a long time without warning anyone he wasn't shipping.

I'm glad folks aren't having any more problems, but I'd always be wary of making a large purchase from him.

Take note of post #3 and post #5. I especially don't like the sound of "forever" in post #3. Just to guarantee that I won't be waiting much longer, I think I'll send an email to Bob Roberts. I've been meaning to get a Sanyo cap kit from him anyway.
