Has anyone figured out who has the best price on led's?

with a WPC game is it a must to buy the "ghost busting" type LEDs? At $1+ per bulb, I may reconsider.

If you guys want to try some high quality LED's that you can actually *see* a difference in compared to other LED's, you need to try the NoFlix Plus from Germany. Pretty much the most expensive out there, but they are clearly better than any other LED's that I've used.

They don't flicker nearly as badly, the strobe effect is almost non-existent, and the color saturation under inserts is superb.

If you want the best, don't expect it to be cheap.

I use cointaker supers for everything. I've tried all of them including the noflix plus and for the money, cointaker supers are the best.

Color match all the inserts with the same color LEDs. One exception is use warm white leds for yellow inserts.

I sure hope you aren't using Supers in the inserts. They look terrible imo, and are no match for the NoFlix Plus.

Yep supers everywhere. Why do you think they look terrible? All the inserts are frosted or have some kind of weird pattern molded into the inserts.

I could see if the inserts were like a piece of glass they would be blinding but they are not so they look great.

They look terrible because they *are* too bright. That brightness, even though not necessarily "blinding", has the effect of washing out the colors. The NoFlix Plus have this down perfectly.

I have done direct A/B comparisons with the Supers and the NoFlix Plus and the difference is very noticeable. The NoFlix Plus gives a deeper, more saturated look under inserts. Same is true vs the 3 LED's sold by Pinball Life.

I uploaded a video of my SM which is known for bad ghosting with Supers and NoFlix Plus.
The NoFlix plus still ghost and never quite shut off.

Yeah, I remember a thread on RGP where a guy did a test with a bunch of different LEDs and it showed the NoFlix Plus ghosting. Kind of surprising since they are so good at not strobing/flickering compared to most LED's.

There is no issue with ghosting in Bally/Williams pins.

My LOTR had terrible ghosting and I had to use the Pinball Life Ghostbusters to get rid of it in the 9 white inserts.

By the way, a lot of people are going to prefer the NoFlix Plus in your video. They act much more like regular incandescent bulbs with the slow fade on and off compared to the Supers (and most all other LEDs)

My Williams Space Shuttle has ghosting, but frankly, it doesn't bother me.

I will say that I got a bunch of new LEDs in last night. Word of warning here: If you buy orange LEDs, they're NOT BRIGHT ENOUGH....I'm using the single flat lens from PL and it's not bright enough in the inserts to make me happy with it...I don't know what I'm going to do with them...may try to see if I can return them towards a bunch of 3-bulb orange ones...which are of an appropriate brightness for the inserts on my machine. =|

Color changers from them also are not very bright. May be bright enough to light an insert that you want the effect on, but not much else.

I'll have some videos and pictures for comparison up later on when I get a chance.

Looking to do a couple of my pins in leds. Not shure who has the best deals out there. If anyone has looked into it allready. A little help is always appreciated.

I buy the majority of mine from CoinTaker. Go to a show they are at and they usually have a show price on standard #555, #44, and #47's.

Cointaker is working on a non-ghosting, slow on/off fade, just like the NoFlix. I tested some previous samples. I'll wait until he gets them out.

This is a confusing decision, there are so many choices and the way many of the lights works varies by machine manufacturer.

I just ordered a complete set of Cointaker super brights for my Taxi. Not sure when they'll get here, but I'll post a vid when I get them installed if anyone wants to see them in a System 11 game.

Whomever you use, don't buy the prepackaged kits. You'll pay about a 400% premium that way. Just buy individual bulbs based on what the game takes and save yourself a ton of cash. I have used BCSPinball and Pinball Life most recently. I was very satisfied with the Pinball Life order.

I agree with this. I found out the hard way yellow LEDs are basically worthless...and not yellow.
