Has anyone ever asked the paint match guy to tint enamel paint with latex tints?

Just wondering what would happen. Would it work.

I had one do it accidently (he set the wrong primer type or something). It worked for a while, but once it stood for a couple of months the pigment came out in big blobs. I had to take it back in to get it shaken up and the guy that looked at it just laughed and shook his head. He asked who mixed it. I said some young kid and he said they had to fire him for screwing up too much. He mixed a new batch for me, for free.

Do you think it would be OK if I used it right away and it dried?

When I worked at walmart we tinted everything with the same tint. The bottles did not say if they were for latex or enamel. I have even tinted stain with the same thing.
