I have these for my DK. They are noticeably different than the originals in color, shape and feel. Though, they fit the PAL sized holes and play just fine.

Some guys are picky about it though and are willing to spend over $30 for just one original button in good shape (no cig burns, good color).

Originals (blue buttons, not jump button):

I have the Mike's arcade ones. They are ok, but I want the originals. Color is different and feel is different. But they do fit well.

Hmmm..

How bought for punchout I just got a cab. and it has different buttons on it than the originals!
Whats the different feel you mean? are the heads more concave?

Originals are more concave. I just added pics to my earlier post. Originals have more spring to them as well. Mike's buttons feel very soft when you press them.

To answer the OP, I believe Twistedquarter's buttons are more flat as you can see from the pictures. They definitely wouldn't match up if you already have original buttons on your CP that you plan to keep.

yeah, i can see that now looking at the different pics. i think i'm gonna have to pony up for an orange button...

I actually thought about doing some accurate repros, but got distracted with some other work stuff. Maybe I'll get back to it eventually.

I am surprised no one has repro'd the exact units (and color) yet - there'd have to be a nice little market surely??

I've been saying this for years. A plastics guy was on RGVAC 5 or more years ago and ran some I believe, then he vanished. I guess it's actually a very limited market, as long as there are replacements that mostly fit and are sort of close in color.

most of the dk's at the NW Pinball and Arcade show had the Mikes Buttons on there... Really felt like a Jamma button. Button seemed too get stuck quite often or not working right .

Twisted and Mikes "DK" buttons are just short leaf buttons... nothing special about them. Not sure about Twisted, but Mike turns the original button down slightly so it will fit correctly.... but it's just a standard ole button... no need to go paying a premium for them if you have a Dremel tool or a file to do the shaving yourself.

After reading posts here on the subject and doing my own net search, I decided that there's no better alternative than the Mikes Arcade set. link

They're ok and were a better choice than the black/red ones that somebody had installed on my DK. However, the orange jump button quickly became sticky--a shot of lube and it was fine. I got used to the light spring tension pretty fast.

I'm no fan of the el-cheapo snap together buttons--if they snap together they can snap apart which happened at the Kong Off event (see attached photo below). The metal e-ring types are so much better. But..."You can't always get what you want, but if you try sometimes, you can get what you need." *Stones

A local guy who went out of biz claims he has some NOS--I'll try him again and see if that's true.

Uh, I agree with you on the e-ring buttons. But the one in the pic that broke looks like it might be an original Nintendo button, not a cheapo. It is hard to tell, but the blue ones are definitely original.

You have a good point that the blue ones are definitely originals on that Kong Off machine. I really don't know if the original Nintendo DK buttons had e-rings or not.

i don't know about dk, but my mario bros, which is a dk conversion, has the original mario buttons and they are e-ring buttons.

Yeah, my all original complete DK control panel that looks damn near NOS has e-clip buttons. It still has the green locktite/glue on every nut on the underside of the panel. I picked it up from a former Atari employee that had a big game room in his garage once upon a time. I don't really know what it was doing all by itself, but I wasn't going to turn it down when he threw it in the lot I bought. Now if I can just get the converted cab I have restored....
