Harrisburg auction 3-19, who's going?

Before they only charged you sales tax and the $100 refundable deposit. Everything else is new.

No, they've been charging a buyer's premium (the 10%) forever - have to, that's how almost all auctioneers make their money. You can't charge the seller too much - they won't come if they feel it's costing them money to sell their stuff.

Now that you say it though, I think the 3% for credit is new from when they started taking cards. And I guess the $10 is new. Still, not too horrible.

I will try to be there on Saturday... looking to buy a pin possibly. Anyone with a big truck going to be passing by the Baltimore area on their way there or back?

count me in, never been to the harrisburg one but it's the closest location to me for an auction (2+hrs). we have zippy down here in northern Virginia or the DMV metro area for that matter. always somewhere else and at least 6hrs away. have noticed prices up there seem pretty high in comparison to NC/TN ones just from posts. won't be heading up till tomorrow morning.

bump... anybody going to the preview tonight?

I'm probably going, but still trying to figure out if I can buy anything tonight like you could at the last one at the Farm Show Complex ...

I won't be able to make the auction tomorrow and there really isn't much use in going if I can't pick anything up ... except to look at all the pretty pretty machines ...

i'll prolly be lurking about.
good thing is, i'm not looking to buy
the same type of titles most klovers want, so
the 'competition' factor is low. i've met some other
folk from here who are passive aggressive and will
be unfriendly towards others due to a belief that they
will end up bidding against you later and will fight you
tooth and nail for a game. this behavior disgusts me.

Been trying to go to one of these but I always work on Saturdays. That should be changing soon as I am quitting my second job at the end of the month. I WILL be at the next one!

Jinxed myself by bumping the thread... now I can't do either today or tomorrow.

Stupid real life, always intruding on hobby time...

Is anyone going tonight to take a look at things?

Stopped by briefly with my daughter since we were driving past anyway.

Unimpressed with the auction lineup in general, at least what was displayed when I was there. Although they were still unloading stuff.

Only about a dozen pins, and most seemed to have issues. There was an Addams family with Uncle Lester and the topper, seemed to be in pretty good shape cosmetically, but was registering a "ball missing" error so it wouldn't play. Other pins that I can remember: World Cup Soccer, Space Jam, Nascar, Roller Coaster Tycoon, Rollerball, Championship Pub.

The usual assortment of video games. Seemed to be a lot of shooters and driving games, not too many classics. There were a couple of upright Trons (daughter liked that game).

Plenty of laser jukes, lots of touchscreens, a row of redemptions, some crane machines, a few skeeballs, some air hockeys. In other words, the usual stuff.

Trying to decide if it is worth it to go back tomorrow. It is usually $8 just to park, not to mention the $10 for a bidding card.

Well I was going to head down tomorrow but now I am scheduled to get an ultrasound of my liver tomorrow so I'm out. I really wanted a touch screen game! Ughhhh

Lets hope more pins show, probably not worth showing up for touchscreens and newer cabs!

I've been to a couple of these now and the number of pins is usually pretty small compared to all the other stuff. I didn't get there this time, but perhaps the next one.

The thing with the unloading is that they'll be unloading up until the last minute before they start the auction. I hate paying to park, but what are you gonna do? I don't get the bid card until I see something I'm sure I want to bid on.

VERY Happy!! My Captain Fantastic sold for $1000 (new bulbs and rubbers)...couldn;t sell it at the York or Allentown show for the same money. My Stratoflight with new bulbs and rubbers, but was dead as a doornail right before they started the bidding--my delivery guy couldnt figure out why it was completely dead--still sold for $410! That game at York or Allentown would only bring $250!! Todd from TNT Amusements

I got home a little bit ago... it was actually quite big, compared to the last couple. I went there looking for a SF Rush 2049, picked one up in the first couple hours, so I left (since I really don't have room for much more, and couldn't fit anything else in my van).

They had lots of gun games, fighting games, and even a Discs of Tron (EDOT which was horribly cut, water damaged, with peeling art). Anyone catch how much that went for? I was tempted to hang around for that, but I figured it'd go for too much, and though it seemed to be fully working, it was certainly a project. If I would have had the room, I may have stuck around for an Area 51/Max Force or a Soul Calibur II. Overall, prices seemed pretty good (not way out of the ordinary for either the buyer or seller).
