Only re-posting this here in order to actually get a response from someone.......

I ordered a wiring harness from Ebay for a SNK Neo Geo MVS system, so pretty much a standard JAMMA with 2-4 extra wires for additional pushbuttons. Turns out the main power cables, 5v and 12v leads, are not 18 gauge but 20 gauge. Now I know I've seen a few complaints around the internet about particular harnesses like that, but I do not know if it would be a real issue in the long run. I intend to run a MV-4F in my Neo 50 cab with this new harness loom, will this be an issue? Will I need to re-wire it or should I just buy a different one?

I've already spent like $22 on this harness, it does have some nice lengthy cable and numbered pins. And I've already begun stripping and splicing the wires to some of molex connectors I saved form the last harness loom.

rawr =3

its a simple question and no one seems to want to or can't answer it!? plz....i'd rather not waste my time wiring this whole thing up XD

wire it and all will be OK - at a worst case you may need to double up on the ground and 5V wires - everything else will be fine.

and for the record you DIDN'T buy it "from eBay", they don't sell anything - you bought it from an eBay seller.....

I've never had an issue either, though, I haven't been doing this for very long. I think the main complaint about the super-cheap JAMMA harnesses was that they were actually missing wires. The ones I buy from twisted quarter on eBay have smallish gauge power wires, but do just fine.

I think you only need to improve it if it is an issue.

For example if you are losing 0.5v across the harness, from the power supply to the edge connector, then replace the cable with larger guage (+5v Line)

Yeah I bought this harness from Twisted Quarter lol

I did double up the wires, as typically there are 2 pins on each side for 5v so there is four 20 gauge wheres, I think that should be enough.

There was a guy who did a review on different harn(s) from different vendors
While I can't find his website site.
I did remember who was his top pick.

Yea that's the HardMVS guy, he's the reason I was worried. I was reading up some more on his site and I noticed the product review, he wasn't satisfied with any of the harness because of no 18 gauge wires, then he found some with it but shorter and missing wires. Until he settled on Bob Roberts' harness.
