Hardly Drivin'

Who's the person that would be best to print these files when they are done? The side art isn't polycarbonate covered like the dash overlay or the door panel graphics are. I've heard arguments on the best methods to print stuff like that but I can't remember which way was best.

How did you get that steering wheel looking so nice? Did you sand it down and use a buffing wheel of some sort?

Believe it or not, I scraped the majority of the rust off with the edge of a fender washer ( a nickel would do the same thing) and then I used chrome polish for the rest. A little backwoods ingenuity at it's finest

FYI: If the seat magnet doesn't work and you've checked everything, replaced the transistor(s) on the APU, checked and rechecked the wiring and the magnet, then check the seat adjust switch.

The switch functions as a circuit interrupt, so it's push/off, not push/on. I just worked my BUTT off for hours trying to figure out what was wrong, then paid attention to the schematic, switched one wire and had to walk away.

I walked away satisfied, but had to walk away and have a drink.

Facebook friends wanted to see more about the game. Here's the current state of mine, though I do now have the floor in. Still working on getting the shifter solenoid working, getting the magnet to not sit wonky on the floor and replacing the artwork.

Nice. I've gotten lots done, just been lazy on posting photos. Here's a couple to look at although it's just the base. I am replicating it piece by piece. Took the car body to my local paint and body shop. It's getting professionally painted in ferrari red! Should look awesome. More to come.

Those magnets are specific to Hard and Race Drivin' cockpits from what I've seen. I bought mine from a guy selling misc. parts from a Hard Drivin'.

Here is a link to one on eBay:

He says it's for the shifter, but it's not. It's the seat magnet. I tried to tell him that but he ignored me. Only Hard Drivin' uses a magnet on the shifter, and it has 2 holes and 1 leg (it's basically a seat magnet with a leg cut off so it fits inside the shift assembly housing), whereas the Hard and Race Drivin' seat magnet has 3 bolt holes and 2 legs.

You're missing the end of the bracket, I'm sure you knew that. You're not missing much, though. Easy enough to make the parts you need with a strip of metal and a welder.

Things are moving along. Here are a couple of more pics. Sorry I don't make a very riveting build thread lol.

A rare look inside
