Hardest game to slide on carpet? (sans aftermarket mods)

I am gonna have to go with Tutankham. Rearranged the gameroom this morning and damn, what a shitty design. Plywood catches on every carpet pile available. Ended up pulling a nice swath of plywood off the bottom. I think there are wheels on the back, but you have to tilt the unit to use them. When you are in a vertical-only situation, they are useless.

Do you not have a dolly??

I move everything with a dolly.

Dude, you still PLAY with Dollys, OK? I had both my kids with me this morning and was not able to drag that dirty thing in from the gayrage. Plus I am impatient and do not like wasting time locating the right tool for the job.

I would say Paperboy, or 720 would be the toughest to move on carpet.

just because it has a wood base, does nto mean you can't add teflon levelers to it.

I would think any game that did not have levelrs on would be hard to slide. I am pretty sure cinematonics games don't have levelers. if so, good luck sliding a space wars. Tailgnner cockpit is a pain to move. So is sinistar cockpit.

outrun sucks balls to move on carpet. or anywhere. It always gets caught up on things, the base is way wider than everything which throws you off, the rounded sides suck to try and palm too. Oh yeah, and it's heavy as hell.

Ironically, I moved my Outrun from one side of the cade to the other and it was the easiest to move. Maybe because I removed the little 1x1" particle board runners and replaced them with 2 2x4's. It's like a carpet sleigh now.

This is also the game that nearly crushed my leg when in transport, so maybe I just think its a beast now. Damn you Outrun, damn you to hell!

I think any cabinet with worn out leg levelers is a bitch to move. The ones that used the "swivel" type are always worn through the pad. They seem not to move on any surface.

That's way all my cabs get new non-swivel type leg levelers with a smooth domed surface. I can slide any cab on carpet with them on.

Well, the Berzerk I tried to move the other day was a bitch on the carpet.

But y'all can trust me, there is nothing worse to try to move without equipment on carpet than:

Not only is the entire cabinet metal - making it weigh 400 lbs for a sub-5 ft cab - but the entire top section tilts and rotates, so there isn't really a good place to grab hold of it...

i have these -

under every game i own - and all are on carpet. I even remove the feet completely. The games are easy to move with them. I stick them completely under the base of the game. They do tend to make the carpet flatten out a bit in those spots, but once you move it about an inch, they're as easy to move as if they were on rollers on concrete. Just like new locks, i just consider them as a part of the expense of owning a game.
Incidentally, i've got them under a 720, a ROTJ, well, all my cabinets, and they all move easy. Well worth the investment, imho.

those sliders do actually work well, in my experience. i don't have any, but ethanb does, and we moved a red baron cockpit around on his basement carpet no sweat.

Yeah, I have a Dangerzone and it is the biggest pain to move. Its just ackward and heavy, and the top flops around like a bobblehead. I think ops use some sort of lockbar for the monitor when transporting, but eh, who has time to figure that out.

I had a set of those and tossed them in the trash. They kept hanging up on the carpet and coming out from under what they were supposed to be moving. I do like the adhesive backed gliders though.

No kidding?

I have a set of the original ezmoves and they are amazing. They'd glide right over my carpet and would never come off.

300+ lb games like Spy Hunter I could push around with ease. I could even move my 500 lb monster Gauntlet Legends with them.
