I bought the replacement Timekeeper SRAM s suggested by Jed Margolin, but now I cant find on the main board where the original SRAM is. There are 3 boards visible in the back of the machine. One large one and two smaller boards stacked on the large one. I d/l the schematics and scrutinized them over and over but I cant find where the original chip is. Has anyone done this replacement of the RAM chip before, any suggestions.

This is all the documentation I have found

Thanks

Update:

Got in contact with Jed Margolin, one of the original engineers of Hard Drivin'. He was able to point me to the exact location of the Timekeeper on the main board. I removed the main board and replaced the chip. Fired up the game with fingers crossed. Everything came up normally, played a couple of games and the scores control settings saved even after a power-cycle. Mission accomplished.

do these chips also remember the lowest lap time? or is that another chip?

and as asked above, where are these chips on the PCB?

i've never heard of anyone's saving the lowest lap time (besides in the high score table) once powered down. Fwiw, i've replaced both the 48z02 and timekeeper in mine, and it doesn't save me as the guy to beat once the machine's been power cycled. That's just how it is.

ahhh ok gotcha... well thats kinda lame, but if thats how it is, then thats how it is. good to know my machine is working in that respect :)
