Need some help guys. Got a new board set for Hard Drivin. Played fine. Went to adjust the volume up while playing and the sound went dead. Test screens say everything is fine. Swapped out the new for the original sound board, still nothing. That tested fine too. I get a tone when connecting a multimeter to the speaker wires. Tried using another speaker, still nothing. I'm stuck. Hope someone can help. Could the volume control have gone bad? Is there a way to bypass it to see? The only control in the control test screens that doesn't show is the volume knob.

I read that these are static sensitive devices. I must have had a static charge when I touched the volume control, because as soon as I did, that's when it went out. Is there any way to reset or discharge?

weird.

Is start by checking all the fuses again. Im trying to remember how sound is amplified on these ... id check that pot too.. could be something is wrong with the pot, as soon as you moved it it broke...

I swapped out everything. Old and new. All different combinations of boards. Game still plays with the old components and the new adsp board. Yes, as soon as I touched it it went out. Like I said, when I use the multimeter, I get current through the speaker wires... That can't be a fuse can it? I didn't hear anything pop when I touched it.

Really, a bad fuse? It's fixed. Thanks calillacman. It didn't look blown. There went six hours of board swapping.

BWHWHAAAA..... man i love simple fixes that you hunt forever to find lmao.. been there man dont feel bad.

On my cp race drivin the coin lights would only come on during loud sounds like the DONG when you put coins in, etc.. I put in a new apu board, chased wiring, pulled my hair out... and finally gave up..

finally something else let go (steering motor board iirc)

and during testing i ended up with more than one fuse that looked fine but was either open or dropping signifigant voltage. Replaced and coin lights worked ever since lol..

Glad to hear you got it all fixed up!!!

If you have an hdupright i might be interested in the sound board to fix my upright rd(last board, closest to back door) mines got some bad roms or something else nasty going on
