Hard Drivin' - Race Drivin' upright...best way to get to monitor?

I have a Race Drivin' upright that has monitor issues. What is the best way to get at the monitor? The back does not open. I fear you have to go at it from behind the marquee. Is that correct? Can the chassis be removed without yanking the whole damned tube?

Thanks!

There is an access door on the top of the machine to adjust the monitor. If you're going to remove it, it has to come out through the front. You'll have to remove the marquee and light fixture. You might be able to remove the chassis from the access door, but you'll have to check as I'm not 100% sure it could be done.

Yikes. Damn my low ceilings. I have about 1/32 of an inch between the top of the machine, and the ceiling. Do you think I can yank the chassis out from behind the marquee (without destroying it)?

I'm starting to wonder if an "Out of Order" sign might be the best route.

The back should come off, if it has a lock on it, just drill it out. You can remove the chassis easily from the back. I had my chassis repaired so may be able to help with your symptoms. What exactly is the monitor doing?

The one thing I'm 100% sure of is that the back does NOT come off. Now the lower part....yes. But the top where the monitor is....does NOT....come off.

I had to dis-assemble mine to get it into the basement. The marquee and the front glass come off and then the light display comes out. Four bolts remove the monitor chassis and then the whole thing comes out from the front. It is time consuming, but not very difficult. I got my tamper-proof screw bit kit at ACE hardware.

im trying to remeber but i think the marquee and boards that held the light unscrewed and i was then able to access the monitor.. something like that. There is also an access hole at the top of the cab but its so small its almost worthless
