Hard Drivin/Race Drivin/Street Drivin/Hard Drivin's Airborne

Hey there. Love these games- just recently stumbled across Street Drivin and Hard Drivin's Airborne- I guess these were never released. I'm assuming it would be alot of work- but I'd love to play either of those in a cabinet some day. Does anybody have any experience with this sort of stuff?

If I was really lucky- I'd say that the rom images for those proto's could be applied to a race drivin' board and they'd play just fine, but I have a feeling I wouldn't be so lucky:p

airborne is actually a superset of the hard drivin pcb set, so your chances of getting that to run are about zero.

Street Drivin would be a possibility, if the slapstic chip is different you are out of luck, but the worst that will happen is you burn some roms and then it won't work. The figure 8 track is fun (I have played it in race drivin panorama)

airborne is not going to happen. Not only is the board different, the steering wheel is also acts as a flight yoke. If you can't push and pull it, you cant make the car fly.

I was trying to get Street Drivin working on my Race Drivin PCB, but could not find much info on it. I'm trying to remember, but I think I found out that the main PCB is slightly different. I burned a bunch of ROM's, for the main PCB and it would only go to test mode, and reset. Maybe someday, someone (probably not me!) will figure it out.

Thanks for saving me the time of trying this. Also, you will run into problems trying to run Panorama roms on a normal boardset (it has a different slapstick)

no panorma without th slapstick. Plus I think you have to have several boardsets linked to get the side views.

your best bet to play any of the rare games is if I can get someone motivated to fix the proto upright airbornes I have in my garage.

Street Drivin?! I never heard of this one?! Anyone have any more info on this game?!

Its in mame. Basically it adds the figure 8 track from panorama and one of the cars is changed to a cop car. The odd part is that in mame it lacks sound (while sound is emulated in race/hard drivin). So its possible that that they used a newer sound board.

Interesting! What year was the copyright from? I guess it was after Panorama, but before Airborne? I didn't see any mention of it in the KLOV database or on the Arcade Flyer Archive.
