I have to re-sync all controls everytime after power down. Also, how do i set the game to only allow shifting when clutch is pressed. Mine is set somehow to where you can shift gears without needing the clutch. Please help!

setting up controls is normal for me upon powerup...hard drivin has a coil that is energized to make it easier to move from gear to gear when the clutch is down. you can still shift out of gear but you have to give it a little force to do it ( just like a real car) but there is no way to keep it from coming out of gear....

your ZRAMS are bad. There are two to replace, one is a timekeeper, but you can just use a normal zram. Do a search on race drivin and zram and you will find all the info documented.

The chip is a 48Z02-150 to be precise.

Also as far as the easy shifting goes, take a shifter apart and look for a coil. chances are its broken or unconnected.

Maybe you can take a picture of the inside of the shift box for me cause mine must be missing something. Either way, I was trying to say that when i was younger and played Hard Drivin' I remember if you tried to switch gears without pushing the clutch down there would be audio simulation of gears grinding and you had to push the clutch down to stop the audio and allow the shift. I know you can still move the shifter whenever cause there is no real clutch or linkage but u know what i'm trying to say? hard to explain.

In order to replace them, do they need to be saudered? I haven't looked but if they are saudered what is the easiest way of removing them?

Well if they are soldered then you would have to de-solder the part from the harness in order to replace it. You do have a soldering iron, multimeter, logic probe and other eletronci servicing tools?

I can solder rather well but i really suck at removing solder. Is it best to cut the chip off the pins and remove each one at a time?

I was the same way. You need the right tools and practice to improve.

If you will be replacing the parts, then cutting the pins is fine. Look at the price of replacements BEFORE making that decision! :)

so, u saying they are not soldered into the board?
