I bought this monitor new in 2009 and this is the first issue I've ever had with it. I bought two other identical monitors at around the same time, and still no issues yet with either one of those.
I turned my Missile Command on for the first time in several months, and the monitor came up blurry; not extremely blurry, but rather, it looks like what would happen if you turned the flyback focus pot a 16th of an inch to the left or right on a monitor that was originally in perfect focus.
I suspect that I can fix it (temporarily at least) by adjusting the focus pot, but there must be some underlying problem which caused it, because it didn't gradually get out of focus from extensive use; in fact, this monitor hasn't been used much at all. It's been used for maybe a few hours every few months (if that) since I bought it new. The last time I used it it was in perfect focus like it had always been.
Is there a particular capacitor or other type of component that can fail and cause the focus to change? Or maybe the flyback transformer itself?
