looking for a good HAPP Steering Potentiometer. (need it for a Ridge Racer 2 but I know they used it in many different games) A lot of the NAMCO games used this pot. HAPP part number is 80-5026-00. It has the longer 1-1/8" shaft. let me know..... Thanks!

just a one turn pot? what value do you know?

if its a 5k rat shack has one ive been able to make fit into a lot of games simply by cutting or grinding the shaft as necessary.

i found a ridge raver v manual and the namco number for that pot is 88800053 but of course, not much luck tracking that down either. THey do not specify a value.

steering is something on these that needs to be reinitilazed when your done and periodically, so i guess the dumb question is have you tried a reinitialization yet?

Thanks for the info. Switch sound slike gravel inside when you turn it and is very sloppy. I am sure it is junk, probably why I got the game so cheap. Should be an easy fix...

I found an old thread from Ken Layton that recommended these Honeywell pots as nearly universal replacements for general arcade steering/pedal use.

As with other generic replacements, these will require some Dremel or filing work to get them to fit. That said, these are far cheaper than factory replacements.

Edit: Found the thread. Credit where credit is due. :)
