I have a Warzaid I have been trying to get the 2nd gun working on. The first gun is a Happ type 2 and it works fine, the 2nd was a Betson gun that was partially destroyed. Rather than try to fix the trashed gun I bought another Happ type 2 on ebay that was "tested working" and also included a 2nd "brand new optic board".

Well I received the gun today and it does not work. It registers the trigger but that is all. I swapped the optic board with the supposed brand new one... same thing. I swapped all the optic boards around to rule out anything else, and my original Happ gun's optic board is the only board that works. All the wiring is good, I can have a working gun on either player as long as it is one with my original optic board. One thing that is weird is that the connector on that board is flipped opposite to the two new ones I bought, so I have to flip the cable upside down, but I assume that is just a different board revision.

So basically what I am trying to figure out is did someone sell me 2 broken boards and lie about it? I don't want to accuse the seller of ripping me off if I'm just missing something. I'm so sick of trying to fix this.

Thanks for any help.

Here are some pictures to show the difference between the boards. The first picture is the board that works, the second is one of the boards I just bought which does not work. You can see the large connector is upside down on the board that does work, so I have to flip the cable around.

Is there any reason the new boards would not be compatible?

Can you post a picture of the connectors that plug into the game PCB and the connectors that plug into the optic board? I've never had an issue with swapping Betson and Happ guns or PCB's.

Here is one of the non-working boards connected inside a gun, and the connection between the gun and the game. Both guns have identical wiring, and will work on either player 1 or 2... the only thing that makes a difference is which optic board I am using.

Is it normal to have to flip the cable upside down to switch between the two styles of boards?

Ok, I managed to get the new gun partially working somehow. However, it only registers in the center of the screen. The gun with the original board which has been working all along registers properly across the entire screen.

I checked the voltage at the gun and it is 5.05 v

I contacted the seller and he said he tested it in an Area 51.

I'm not sure what else to do.

Try the PCB. I've had the exact same problem with one other warzaid PCB I have. The 2 nd player doesn't work no matter what. Swap pcbs works no problem.

But, I can swap the guns and the problem moves with the gun that has the certain style of optic board. Depending on which optic board is connected to which player, either player will work. I would think that if I bought another of the optic board that works, I would have two working guns. On your machine, did the problem always stay with one player, or are you saying it just refused to have two working guns at the same time?

I had a similar problem, and IIRC I had to force the connector on "backwards" on the new gun PCB. Worth a try.

Did not move with the gun. It is most likely an issue with the CPU on PCB. Seems to be a common issue with warzaid. I've seen 2 others with the same issue as well. The konami viper pcbs arew known to have alot of CPU issues.

I finally got this game fixed.

It seems both the optic boards that came with the replacement gun I bought just weren't working properly. The person who sold me the gun sent me a third board, and that solved the problem.
