Just wondering - I installed a Police Trainer kit into a 19" Dynamo cab with a beautiful K7000 monitor. Game works ok but it seems like the guns aren't very accurate...holding it as perfectly still as I can and pulling the trigger fast I'd say it registers about 75% accurate. A few shots will register nearly 2 inches away (on screen).

I opened the gun up and cleaned up the lense (filthy) and wiped off the sensor but it didn't seem like it did any good. Anything else I can do?

Did you calibrate the guns in the menu? They are definitely capable of way better accuracy than that. I just put brand new happ guns in my Area 51, and they are really accurate, and haven't needed to be calibrated. The pair of non happ guns I replaced had to be calibrated every time I turned the game on, and they were still terrible.

I think thats just the way Police Trainer is. I have a set of Happ .45 cals that I use in my cab and swap out between four different boards.

I have a Deer Hunting USA, Area 51/Maximum Force Duo, Zero Point, and Lethal Enforcers. I had some friends comment on how impressed they were with the accuracy of my guns on Area 51. I just got a Police Trainer about two weeks ago. Police Trainer is the only board that I can't get to hit consistenly, even after going through all 20 brighness levels. My guess is that it's to make get game more challenging.

I've even put the gun right on the tube for the part where you score the most for head shots and I still can't get a really tight cluster. Like you said, about 25-30% of the shots go waayy out of line.

Yep thats exactly the test I'm using too. I did try calibrating them several times, and trying different brightness levels, although I didn't try calibrating after I cleaned this one up. I do have an Area 51 Site 4 I could dig out and try.

I read somewhere else that bumping up the voltage a hair may help - I'm going to go grab my meter and see where its at.

(PS - I also tried adjusting the brightness of the actual monitor up and down a little, no difference)

Well, it could just be my imagination, but I turned the 5v down as far as 4.75...board still ran and it seemed like it got a little more accurate, but like you said it still registers a hit or two out in left field. That said...the grouping seems tighter.

I dunno though...I played this at Yestercades (the reason I decided to get one of my own) and I didn't notice the guns not registering well like it does in this cab. I think theirs was in a lethal enforcers cab (or similar).

If the monitor looks like it has good contrast, you'll probably need to replace the gun boards. On a nice fresh gun, man they are within about an 1/8" each shot. The boards aren't very expensive, however so it might be worth it to you if you decide you're going to keep the game.
