Ok, question:

I have a target terror game with a flat screen monitor. This is a conversion kit in a standard JAMMA cabinet, and I'm using the basic Happ Guns for it. It works great.

Is it true that other gun games I buy (like point blank, etc) won't work because of the flat screen?

Thanks in advance.

Are you sure you have an LCD and not a flat-face CRT? Flat-faced CRTs do exist, Wells D94xx and newer for example. Normal lightguns will-not-work-period with an LCD, the two technologies are completely incompatible. A flat-face CRT monitor will work with any game that produces a signal the chassis can sync to. If it's 25" or bigger, and not widescreen, I can pretty much guarantee you have a flat-face CRT. 4:3 LCDs above 20" don't exist.

If you do in fact have an LCD, I'm very very interested in finding out what's inside those guns, and what they're connected to back inside the cabinet.

I'll double check it then - now that you say it I'm pretty sure it is a flat face.

there are some light guns that work with LCDs but they all require a second sensor to function. similar to the sensor bar on a Wii. Those guns use the infrared leds in the sensor bar to figure out the guns location.

Also, they produce a different signal that's incompatible with games expecting a normal lightgun. (You can't use Time Crisis 4 guns on TC3 or vice versa, for example.)

This is just a plain jamma cabinet with a target terror kit in it - plain old Happ guns. I'm looking to put some other gun game boards in it, I just want to make sure they would work. I don't see why they wouldn't; but then again I wasn't sure if target terror did something special to their gun inputs.

I just want to confirm that it was indeed a flat CRT screen - so there were no issues with a new gun game in it.
