I got a cab the other day that has an issue. The monitor has no neck glow, there is no sound, the Happ switcher has a loud crackling sound which I have posted a video of below, and the transformer has a very audible hum which you can hear in the backround of the vid. I am more than likely going to replace the PS because it sounds unsafe but should I also replace the transformer, or do these normally hum loud enough for you to be able to hear?

considering all the trouble points you've mentioned, I would say it's a best bet to examine the source: your AC in.

bear in mind, if you had a game connected via the JAMMA harness while this cab was doing this, your game may potentially be damaged. I encourage if you haven't done so already to disconnect the JAMMA harness from your board.

I'm a little confused by the fact that the power supply didn't go into shut down. check the AC wiring going to the power supply, be sure that you're getting between 110-120V (it will be the black and white wires, usually, but the screw terminals for the AC in are clearly marked AC and AC). be quick about this, or disconnect the terminals from the power supply first, switching power supplies cannot work without a load for an extended period of time (roughly 15 seconds or less). then check your AC plug going to the monitor, make sure it's getting 110-120V too.

if you're getting proper AC voltage, then your power supply is junk and you have something else wrong with your monitor.

if you're not getting proper AC voltage and your cab has an isolation transformer, it is probably bad.
